Using FluoroFinder's Inventory Features
FluoroFinder's Inventory feature allows our Academic Plus and Industry Plus customers to track the reagents they already have available within the a custom "Inventory". User's can add products to their inventory via the manufacturer's catalogue number or directly through product listings in the panel building process.
Furthermore, when combined with FluoroFinder's Flow Cytometry Panel Builder, we can provide you with reagent recommendations directly from your inventory if/when they fit in to an optimized panel design, allowing you to build high quality panels AND save money using the reagents you already have.
Lets take a look in to how the inventory function works. First, we need to navigate to our inventory. We can find it by clicking the "Inventory" header in the toolbar at the top of our screen.
Above, we can see an example of the "Inventory" header. Next to "Inventory" is a number, in this case "86". This is indicative of the number of reagents you have in your inventory. After clicking "Inventory" we'll be taken to our custom inventory landing page (see below):
At the top of our screen we can again see an inventory indicator tab (now showing 85 products) and a tab containing reagents we've previously selected in through panel building.
Clicking this "Selection History" tab will display all products previously selected through your usage of FluoroFinder's Panel Builder tool (see below):
Previously selected antibodies can be easily added to your inventory by selecting the button. Additional options allow you to view the suppliers data sheet (
) or requested a quote for reagent pricing (
). We'll now navigate back to the "Inventory" by clicking the "Inventory" tab
Within the Inventory tab we have a variety of options that we can use to configure, import, export, or modify our inventory.
1. Add Item to Inventory: Clicking this button will begin the process of adding a reagent to your inventory. The first question you'll be asked is whether you'd like the reagent to be added to your "Personal Inventory" or a "Shared Inventory":
Selecting "Personal Inventory" will see the reagent added to an inventory visible to ONLY the adding user. Selecting "Shared Inventory" will begin the process of adding to, or creating, a group of multiple users (added via FluoroFinder user email) that share antibodies within the platform. The process is nearly identical for both processes, so we'll cover adding items to a "Personal Inventory" below.
When adding to a Personal Inventory, simply enter the product SKU (or catalogue number) in to the "SKU" box. FluoroFinder will search its database of products and locate the appropriate match:
Selecting the reagent will load the appropriate details for the product, including supplier, marker, fluorophore, reactivity, isotype, clone, size, price, etc.
Additionally, the user can specify additional information about the reagent, such as the quantity, lot number, location, order/receipt/expiration dates and notes:
After confirming that the loaded details match the expected reagent, and any additional information has been entered, the item can be saved to your inventory by clicking "Save Inventory Item" at the bottom of the screen:
If you'd like to add MULTIPLE products at the same time, the main "Inventory" page has a convenient button for "bulk" import.
Clicking the above button opens a text box allowing for multiple catalogue number/SKU entries, separated by comma, tab, semi-colon, space, or linebreaks.
After entering all of your catalogue numbers, simply select an inventory to add them to from the dropdown box, and click "Add to my inventory". Each of the catalogue numbers that can be matched to an item in FluoroFinder's catalogue will be added to your inventory
A comprehensive listing of the items in your inventory can always be exported to CSV format with the "Export Inventory to CSV" button:
Each reagent within an inventory can also be clicked to enter the detailed information about that reagent.
Reagents can be deleted from Personal or Shared inventories using the individual "trash can" icon next to the reagent entry, OR through the red "Bulk Action" button on the page:
To use the "Bulk Action" feature, simply multi-select the reagents you'd like to manage from the checkboxes next to their entries
Then, click the "Bulk Action" button and select the action you'd like to take:
FluoroFinder will confirm the deletion of the antibodies before taking any action:
Finally, FluoroFinder's Inventory feature allows you to customize what information is displayed on the main inventory page, and to filter what reagents are shown based on a variety of parameters.
To modify your view, you can select the visible "columns" with "Choose Columns", or see ALL information using the "View All Columns" button. Columns can be re-sized, moved, and modified, but any/all changes will only be for the current use of the inventory system and will be reset for your next use.
Similarly, Columns and Filters can be controlled from the toolbar along the right hand side of your inventory table:
Clicking "Columns" will allow you to visualize which columns are active, and easily toggle them on/off
Selecting "Filters" will allow you to apply filters on various reagent parameters to more easily identify target antibodies:
As with the above customization options, these will revert to their standard settings each time you navigate away from the inventory page.
